North Country Cheviot Classes – Great Yorkshire Show 2025

The North Country Cheviot classes at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show took place under almost ideal showing conditions, with a light breeze providing welcome relief from the summer warmth.
Judging was undertaken by Mr Peter Hedley, of the renowned Overacres flock, who had travelled from the Scottish Borders. He was presented with a strong and impressive line-up of stock and ultimately awarded the Champion rosette to a superb entry from Luke Bell-Percy, Stonehill. A regular exhibitor in recent years, Luke took top honours with a two-crop Broomhillbank ewe, originally purchased as a ewe lamb from Lockerbie.
Luke's success didn’t stop there—he also went on to win the Open Pair of Ram Lambs on Friday, a remarkable achievement at just 12 years old.
In Reserve Champion position was another familiar name on the circuit, Keith Stones of Nun Cote Nook, with his Male Champion, a two-shear tup Synton EyesOnMe, purchased at the 2024 Longtown Sale for £1,900.
