Park & Hill North Country Cheviot Show & Sale – Sunday 5th October 2025

The Annual Show and Sale of Park and Hill North Country Cheviots took place on Sunday 5th October 2025, with judging in the capable hands of Lewis Runciman, Allanshaws, who had travelled from Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.

Hill Section

Judging commenced with the Hill types, where the Champion was awarded to Greenbank Farm Empire from Tom Iredale, a two-shear tup sired by Buchtrig Batman. He later realised £945, the top price for the Hill section.

The Reserve Champion also came from Greenbank Farm with Greenbank Farm Endgame, bred the same way as the Champion, selling for £787.50.

Hill tups met a strong trade for a limited entry. Jim Campbell’s pen topped at £735 for Lakeland Epic, sired by Raehills Aero. Local breeder Stephen Robinson matched the £735 mark three times with:

• Sykes Enforcer (sired by Hethpool Warrior),

• Sykes Ernie (sired by Whitefield B 22317), and

• Sykes Discovery (a three-shear by Sorbietrees Acorn).

A total of 12 Hill tups sold to average £704.37, achieving 100% clearance.

Park Section

A strong entry of Park tups gave the judge plenty to consider. Champion was awarded to Nun Cote Nook Fearless from KO Stones, a son of Allanshaws Brazillian. He was later purchased by the judge for £1,680.

The Reserve Champion, Nun Cote Nook Freaky—also by Allanshaws Brazillian—realised £1,260. The Stones family sold four tups to average £1,365.

Regular local consignor John Wood (North Valley) sold eight Park tups to average £748, topping at £1,365 for North Valley F 03655 sired by Sebay Destroyer.

In total, 46 Park tups averaged £605.57.
