Park Type North Country Cheviot Show & Sale – Saturday 20 September 2025
The annual Show and Sale of Park-type North Country Cheviot tups and females took place on Saturday 20 September 2025. Miss Emily Jones, Garnwen, West Wales, travelled to oversee the judging.
With a strong entry of 35 tups and 47 females, Miss Jones faced a challenging task in selecting the champions.
Tups
Champion: Pen-Y-Bont Frontman, a shearling tup from Katy Davies and Daffyd Owen’s Pen-Y-Bont flock, sired by Belmaduthy Clyde. Frontman was later sold for £735.
Reserve Champion: Pen-Y-Bont Emperor, a two-shear tup also from Pen-Y-Bont, sired by Wester Xempelar and selling for £420.
Females
Champion: A homebred gimmer from Ifan Huw Hughes, Eithinog, sired by Eithinog Xavi, she sold for the days top price of £1050.
Reserve Champion: A homebred ewe from DJ Roberts, Ty Corniog.

Overall the tups had an 87% clearance rate, while females were 100% with strong demand for quality trhoughout.

Shearling Tups - 20 sold to average £412
Tup Lambs - 2 sold to average £190
Ewes averaged £330
Gimmers averaged £330
Ewe Lambs averaged £292.
