The Annual Show and Sale of North Country Cheviot Females and Tups took place on Friday 30th August 2024, with the pre-sale show being ably judged by well known breeder, Mr Melfyn Williams, Pengroes.

The Show offered a great opportunity for those watching to view a tremendous selection of animals forward with the judge selecting a Shearling Gimmer from the Brimley flock of Sam Pedrick for his Park Champion, a homebred gimmer sired by Allanshaws XXXX she went on to sell for £630 and was purchased by Ben Baker, BB. With this championship, a third in four yeras for Sam Pedrick, he receives the Soutra Shield.
Reserve Champion in the Park section came from Katy Davies and Dafydd Owen's Pen-Y-Bont flock from North Wales, a homebred Ewe Lamb sired by Wester Xemplar, she later realised £735.

In the Hill section, the Champion came from well known South Wales breeder, Gareth Prices's Cymraeg flock, this time a homebred flock 5 year old ewe by Hownam Grange Valiente who sold for £315. Reserve Champion was again a Ewe Lamb, homebred sired by Langdale A 02799 from Ruscombe Jones, Cwmdu, selling for £210.
The Hill sheep topped at £630 for a shearling ram sired by North House X2222 from Messrs Williams Pengroes.

Topping this year's sale and breaking a new centre record for Monmouthshire Sale was the 1st Prize Park Tup, a shearling from Ben Baker's BB flock, BB Energizer sired by Smerlie Xtreme had previously stood champion at this years Royal Welsh Show in July and was purchased for £4725 by the judge of the Royal Welsh Show, Mr Ritchie Strawhorn, Broomhillbank.

Females met with a top price of £1050 for a homebred 3 year old ewe sired by Gilston Astro from Messrs Williams, Pengroes although she wasn't shown in the pre-sale show, she caught the eye of the crowd in the sale ring and travels to her new home in Yorkshire.
