NSA Builth Ram Sale 2022

Held over for a week due the the Queen's funeral, the annual NSA Builth Ram sale took place on Monday 26th September 2022, with the largest entry seen at this sale in some years of 166 Park type & 7 Hill type rams.

The pre-sale show of park type rams was judged by Mt Elliott Prichard, Olchon finding his champion in the Muddy Plox pen of Daisy Williams, Muddy Plox Coley sired by Smerlie Archie who was purchased for £6500 at Lockerbie in 2020 jointly with the Pen-Y-Bont flock & out of a homered ewe by Pengroes Razor Ruddock, he was later sold for £1050.
Reserve Champion & Best from Welsh Exhibitor (winning the Williams & Goodwin Cup) was BB Cactus Jack from Ben Baker, this Overacres Xtravagant son sold for £1837.50.
The Hill type judge was well known breeder David Douglas, Whitehope awarding the champion rosette to Gareth Price for his 2 shear ram Cymraeg B 02419, sired by the Whitefield W 14766 whihc went on to sell for £840 & 2nd place also went to a Cymraeg 2 shear this time by the Badanloch V 09237 sire Cymraeg B 02415 sold for the top price hill ram on the day at £997.50.
Top Price of the day at £2205 was WJ Corbiere son of the homebred WJ Abracadabra & out of a homebred ewe by Belmaduthy Vanilla Ice from Nigel & Ched Barratt.
