Lockerbie Park Sale 2019

The show & sale of North Country Cheviot Park females & rams took place at Lockerbie on Wednesday 18th September 2019, the pre-sale show of rams was judged by Mr Innes Graham, Carruthers – never an easy task, with over 50 rams brought out for the show his Champion came from the Humbleheugh pen of WD Allen, Lot 89 Humbleheugh X 17677 sired by Humbleheugh Vlad & out of a Humbleheugh ewe by Ericstane Kermit, he went on to sell for £5000 in a two split to Mr Armstrong & Mr Robinson, Northern Ireland. Reserve Champion came from Mrs Jane Jackson’s Ericstane flock, Lot 58 Ericstane X 09958 sired by Synton Vice Admiral & later sold for £3500 to Messrs Watmore, Holystone Wardshill Flock. The days top price came out of the Hownam Grange pen of W & J Thomson, Lot 75 Hownam Grange X Factor sired by Gilston 11532 sold for £6000 in a two way split to S Turnbull, Jethart & WD Allen, Humbleheugh. Top price for the females also came form the same good home, the first gimmer into the ring for Hownam Grange sold to £1000 & heads home to wales.

Females were in strong demand throughout the sale with ewes reaching £180 from Mr N MacDonald, Blackbrye & ewe lambs £300 from G Davies, Synton.
