Dungannon Sale Report 2019

The newly formed North Country Cheviot N.I. Club held their first show and sale in Dungannon Farmers Mart on Thursday the 5th September with an entry of over 250 sheep.

The judging of the pre-sale show was in the capable hands of James Alexander of the Jalex herd/ flock Toomebridge. There were classes for both park type and hill type as well as for first cross cheviot females.

The park type champion was awarded to A and P McNeill, Kilvaddy flock for their shearling ram Kilvaddy X-man this ram had previously been reserve champion at Balmoral show this year, he later sold for 620gns to new breeder Gareth Henderson, Bushmills.
Taking reserve champion in the park type section was A Armstrong, Stragole flock for his smart ewe lamb, she later sold for the joint top female price of 460 gns to A Millar, Randalstown.

The Hill type champion was awarded to S Armstrong, Manyburns flock for their 2 shear ram Manyburns Windbreak, he later sold for 300gns to Louise McBride, Martinstown. Taking reserve champion in the hill type section was E Kelly, Crockataggart farms for his stylish gimmer, she later sold for 340gns again to Louise McBride, Martinstown.

In the first cross section A & P McNeill, Kilvaddy Flock picked up first, second and third prizes with their Cheviot Mule Ewe lambs, with the first prize pen of lambs later selling for £175 to G McKenzie, Trillick.
